VrikshaRakshak – PhytoScan AI is a smart plant disease detection tool built using image processing and machine learning. By scanning leaf images, the system identifies the disease, measures severity, and suggests remedies, empowering farmers with real-time plant healthcare—anytime, anywhere.

VrikshaRakshak – PhytoScan AI is a next-generation AI tool that enables farmers to diagnose plant diseases simply by scanning leaf images. In many rural regions, plant disease identification relies heavily on manual inspection, expert access, and laboratory testing, which is often slow, expensive, and unreliable. This project solves the problem by integrating image processing and machine learning to perform instant disease detection, even in remote locations.
The system works by preprocessing the leaf image, extracting texture and lesion patterns, and running the features through a trained Convolutional Neural Network model achieving up to 93% accuracy. The output includes the disease name, severity percentage, and recommended treatment.
By shifting diagnosis from lab-based to mobile-based, VrikshaRakshak aims to reduce crop loss, improve farmer income, and build a tech-enabled agricultural ecosystem. Future upgrades include offline mode, multilingual support, an AI remedy generator, and integration with global smart-agri APIs.
